She was named Miss Columbus in 1985 after kissing the crown, as well as beating her rivals. In June 1985, Miss Georgia was to be named after her. Additionally, on the weekend of June 22, 1985 she took the title. Mohr was crowned winner of the tournament, went on to represent Georgia as Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City in New Jersey in September of 1985. Despite her victory, she did not place in the Top 10 for the title of Miss America national.
